Document Shredding & E-Waste Collection

Rancho Mirage residents (with proof of Rancho Mirage residency) are invited to take advantage of this free service to be held at the Rancho Mirage Library & Observatory located at 71-100 Highway 111, Rancho Mirage on Saturday, October 24, 2020, from 8 a.m. until noon. All documents will be shredded on-site and then recycled. There is no need to remove staples or paperclips from the documents. Examples of documents one might shred include tax documents, bank statements, real estate transactions, and other legal or confidential papers that one does not want to put in the regular recycle bin.
- Shredding will be limited to six 12″x 17″ x 9″ boxes of documents per resident.
- E-waste (i.e. electric/electronic devices) such as old televisions, computers, monitors, cellphones, printers, and household electronics will also be collected free of charge and recycled. Residents may also drop off batteries for HOUSEHOLD devices such as laptops, flashlights, hand-held radios, and other small household electronics.
- Household Hazardous Waste (e.g. paint, pesticides, automobile batteries, light bulbs, etc.) will not be accepted at this event.
