Municipal Elections
The five members of the City Council are elected by citizens of Rancho Mirage via the City’s General Municipal Elections. Beginning in 2022, City of Rancho Mirage General Municipal Elections will be held on the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November of each even-numbered year. Council Members are elected to four-year terms (no term limits imposed), with voting Citywide and elections alternating every two years. The Mayor is appointed every year on a rotational basis by the City Council.

The City of Rancho Mirage will hold a General Municipal Election on November 8, 2022.

- Measure E Ballot Question: Shall the Charter be amended to provide that the council shall at its first regular meeting in December, or as soon thereafter in the event of delayed certification of election results, appoint members to serve as mayor and mayor pro tem for a one-year period that affords each member of the council with an equal opportunity to serve as mayor and mayor pro tem under such guidelines established by ordinance?
