Other Construction Activity Information:

  • Construction activity is prohibited on Sundays and Holidays (New Years Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day)
  • Work hours are 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday – Saturday.  No special permit required.

Codes For All Plans
  • 2022 California Title 24 Building Codes Parts 1-7, & 9-12 (Administrative, Building, Residential, Electrical, Mechanical, Plumbing, Energy, Green Code)
  • 2022 California Fire Code Title 24, Part 9, NFPA standards as adopted in Title 24
Engineering Calcs For All Plans
  • 2 Sets Energy, Climate Zone 15; 2 Sets: Structural, 110 Mph Wind Speed Exposure C; and
  • 2 Sets of Truss Calculations (If Applicable) with Letter of Approval from Engineer of Record
Commercial Plans
  • Submit 2 Wet-Signed Sets: Architectural, Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, & Structural Sheets;
  • 2 Additional Sets To Fire Department and Health Department (If Applicable);
  • 2 Sets Of Truss Calculations (If Applicable) With Letter Of Approval From Engineer of Record;

  • Current City Business License & Worker’s Compensation (Have name of Carrier & Policy available, unless you sign exempt.)
  • If your agent or employee is obtaining the permit(s), you must furnish the city with a notarized letter naming those allowed to obtain permits for your business.

Construction & Demo Required Recycling

It is required that construction projects incorporate sustainable waste management practices. This includes recycling, reusing, or salvaging debris from all new constructed buildings and demolition projects, all locally permitted additions and alterations to non-residential projects and additions and alterations to residential buildings that increase the structure’s conditioned area, volume, or size. The specified goal is a minimum 65% waste diversion, emphasizing the need to divert a significant portion of construction waste away from landfills. This commitment to waste reduction aligns with broader environmental initiatives, promoting responsible construction practices and contributing to a more sustainable and eco-friendly built environment.

PRIOR to issuance of a permit: All required projects must submit a Construction and Demolition Debris Plan, this plan must be approved by the designated city official.

AFTER issuance of a permit: If self-hauling debris, weight tickets are required to be submitted every two weeks. If opting to work with waste hauler- Burrtec provides debris plan assistance, contact:
