1402 hours – Stolen Vehicle Arrest: Deputy Kelly and Deputy Stewart from the Rancho Mirage Special Enforcement Team located a stolen vehicle in the area of Monterey and Market Place shopping center parking lot. The passenger door was open, and a female was seen in the passenger’s seat. Deputies conducted a Felony stop and detained the female. The female advised Charlie Kirkpatrick was the driver of the vehicle and was currently inside the store. Deputies assigned to the Burglary Suppression Unit (BSU) and Riverside Auto-Theft Interdiction Detail (RAID) conducted surveillance of the vehicle until Charlie Kirkpatrick, age 32 of Desert Hot springs, arrived back at the stolen vehicle and was taken into custody. Kirkpatrick was arrested and transported to the John Benoit Detention Center File#S213350042/S213350048.

2010 hours – Public Intoxication Arrest:  Deputy Hohman responded to the 39000 block of Bob Hope Drive in Rancho Mirage, regarding a disturbance call. Deputy Hohman arrested Harrison Wagner, 27 years of Rancho Mirage, for public intoxication. Wagner was booked at the John Benoit Detention Center File #S213350063.

2226 hours – Driving Under the Influence Arrest: Deputy Kemper responded to Highway 111 and Mirage Cove Drive in Rancho Mirage, regarding a driver passed out behind the wheel of a vehicle. Deputy Kemper arrested Troy Erickson, 55 Years of Palm Springs, for driving while under the influence of alcohol. Erickson was transported and released to the care of medical staff. 0246 hours – Driving Under the Influence Arrest: Deputy Hohman conducted a traffic collision investigation at Highway 111 and Paxton Dr, Rancho Mirage.  During the investigation, Alexander Abrahams, 26 years old from Palm Desert, collided with a curb and nearly collided into a patrol vehicle.  Deputy Hohman arrested Abrahams for driving while under the influence of alcohol. Abrahams was booked at the John Benoit Detention Center. File #S213370012.

0321 hours – Driving Under the Influence Arrest: Deputy Kemper conducted a vehicle stop at Highway 111 and Paxton Drive in Rancho Mirage. Deputy Kemper arrested Efrain Castellanos, 27 years of Palm Desert, for driving while under the influence of alcohol. Castellanos was booked at the John Benoit Detention Center. File #S213370014.

1324 hours – Firing and possession of firearm / Child Endangerment Arrest: Deputies responded to the 32200 block of Bob Hope Drive regarding gun shots fired near that location. Deputies performed an area check and found spent shell casings near the location. The reporting party directed deputies to 2 vehicles at a nearby gas station. Deputies performed an investigative traffic stop on the vehicles and contacted Vince Hudson (age 32) out of Los Angeles, who was the driver of the one of the vehicles. Deputies located a handgun magazine, bullets and several suspected narcotic pills. The bullets matched the spent casings recovered near the gas station. The investigation confirmed Hudson being involved in this incident.

Deputies also contacted Antoinisha Evans (age 31) of Los Angeles who was the driver of the other vehicle. Deputies witnessed a 9-month-old baby sitting on the lap of another juvenile, not secured in a car seat. Evans was arrested for Child Endangerment.

Additionally, Hudson was arrested for Child Endangerment and Possession of a Firearm. Both were booked into the John Benoit Detention Center. Child Protective Services were notified to conduct their investigation. File # S213390027

1847 hours – Possession of a Stolen Vehicle Arrest: Sergeant Morton located a stolen vehicle and followed it to Dinah Shore and Key Largo, where additional deputies assisted with a felony stop. The two occupants were detained without incident. Deputy Morales arrested Julio Vargas, age 32 of Cathedral City, for vehicle theft, possession of a stolen vehicle, and possession of burglary tools. Sylvia Nuno, age 35, of Cathedral City, was arrested for an active misdemeanor warrant. They were both booked into the John Benoit Detention Center. File #S213420042.

2022 hours – Elder Abuse/ Criminal Threats/ Assault with a Deadly Weapon Arrest:  Deputy Hohman responded to a battery incident on Juniper Lane in Rancho Mirage. Deputy Hohman arrested Gregory Martin, 53, of Palm Springs, for Elder Abuse, Criminal Threats, and Assault with a Deadly Weapon other than a Firearm. 1120 hours – Felony violation of probation/ commercial burglary/ check fraud/ grand theft arrest: Deputy Stewart with the Rancho Mirage Special Enforcement Team (SET) conducted an ongoing investigation into a check fraud that occurred at a Casino. Deputy Stewart identified the suspect as Bradley Cleghorn, 28 years old, of Cathedral City. Deputies Stewart and Kelly, along with Indian Wells Special Enforcement Team, contacted Cleghorn at his residence located within the, 67000 block of Asistencia in Cathedral City. As he arrived the suspect vehicle was driving away from the location. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver, Patricia Azuzena (age 36) of Cathedral City, was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol. 1210 hours – Burglary/Fraud Arrest: Deputies assigned to the Burglary Suppression Unit (BSU) conducted a follow-up investigation regarding the burglaries (which occurred on 11/6/21) and subsequent credit card fraud.  BSU members identified the suspect as Ramiro Talavera, age 30, a transient of Cathedral City. BSU and SET deputies conducted an operation to locate and detain Talavera. 1236 hours – Felony Warrant Arrest: Deputy Kelly with the Rancho Mirage Special Enforcement Team (SET) learned that Heidi Doyle, age 50, of Hemet was a guest in a hotel in the 32200 block of Bob Hope Drive. Deputy Kelly was aware that Doyle had multiple felony warrants. Deputy Kelly responded, located and arrested Doyle for the outstanding felony warrants. Doyle was booked into the John Benoit Detention Center. Contacted was Aaron Ramirez, age 34 of Cathedral City, who was arrested for being in possession of suspected methamphetamine and suspected cocaine. 1648 hours – Stolen Vehicle/ Warrant/ Possession of Stolen Property/ Narcotics Arrest: Deputies Stewart and Kelly, of the Ranch Mirage Special Enforcement Team (SET), responded to a report of a robbery that occurred at a business in the 34200 block of Monterey Avenue. While assisting with the robbery investigation, it was broadcasted that subjects had fled the business through an emergency exit on the side of the building. With the assistance of members from the Palm Desert SET and BSU, Stephen Ponce, age 35 of Indio, and Sabrina Brooks, age 32 of Thousand Palms, were contacted and detained. The investigation determined Ponce was in possession of a stolen vehicle, stolen property, narcotics, and is linked to a series of reported robberies that occurred within the city of Indio while being on Post Release Community Supervision. Brooks was also found to be in possession of suspected methamphetamine. Ponce was booked into the John Benoit Detention Center. Brooks was cited and released at the Palm Desert Station. They contacted four documented Gang Members from Coachella. While detaining the subjects, a loaded “Ghost Gun” was found in the waistband of Albert Luna, age 25 of Coachella. 0212 hours – Vehicle Pursuit/ Felony D.U.I./ Weapons Violation: Sergeant Morton and Deputy Day attempted a traffic stop when the vehicle fled, and a pursuit was initiated. The pursuit was terminated when the Toyota became disabled after colliding into a curb and a street sign at Miracle Hill Road south of Hacienda Avenue. The driver and passenger were both detained without further incident. During a search of the vehicle, deputies located a “ghost gun”, ammunition, suspected methamphetamine, and suspected fentanyl. Ortiz was arrested for the following charges: DUI causing Injuries, Felonious Evading, Possession of a Firearm with Narcotics, Possession of a Firearm while Under the Influence of a Narcotic, Convicted Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Possession of an Undetectable Firearm, and Committing a Felony while out on Bail. 1350 hours – Possession of Stolen Vehicle/Violation of Parole Arrest: Deputies assigned to the Burglary Suppression Unit (BSU) and the Rancho Mirage Special Enforcement Team (SET) conducted an occupied vehicle check in the parking lot in the 32200 block of Bob Hope Drive within the City of Rancho Mirage. During the vehicle check, it was determined the vehicle was reported stolen from the City of Rancho Mirage. Further investigation concluded the driver of the vehicle, Jose Garcia, 35 years of Cathedral City, was on the property. A perimeter was established, and Garcia was apprehended.
