1130 hours – Misdemeanor Warrant Arrest: Sgt. Morton conducted a pedestrian check at Ramon Road and Bob Hope Drive, Rancho Mirage. Brian Heflin, 50 of Thousand Palms, was arrested for numerous outstanding narcotics warrants. Heflin was cite-released at the scene. File #S210050012

1455 hours – Misdemeanor Warrant Arrest: Rancho Mirage Special Enforcement Team Deputy Kelly and Sgt. Morton conducted an occupied-vehicle-check of a suspicious vehicle in the 69-500 block of Highway 111 in the city of Rancho Mirage. A records inquiry revealed Melanie Rodriguez, 36 of Corona, showed she had numerous outstanding warrants for prostitution, and convictions of prostitution. The Anti Human Trafficking Team was contacted and assumed the investigation. Rodriguez was booked at JBDC. File #S210050039

2206 hours – Felony Warrant Arrest: Deputy Stewart responded to the 39-000 block of Bob Hope Drive, Rancho Mirage reference locating a victim for a previous criminal incident.  The victim’s uncle, Gary Sandeffer, 67-years-old from Whitewater, was arrested for an outstanding felony warrant.  Sandeffer was booked at JBDC. #T210050129

1442 hours – Brandishing / Criminal Threats Arrest: Deputies responded to Bob Hope Drive and Hwy 111 regarding a man threatening passerby’s. Upon arrival, deputies detained Arturo Jovanny Islas Garcia, age 30 of Indio. Victims positively identified Garcia and stated he threatened them with a large knife and threatened to kill them. 2159 hours – Possession of a Stolen Vehicle/ Warrant Arrest: Deputy Kemper was conducting routine patrol in 69-500 block of Highway 111 when he observed an occupied vehicle which had been reported stolen. The vehicle left the location and Deputy Kemper conducted a felony where all occupants were detained without incident. Charles Smith, age 41 of Hemet, was arrested for possession of a stolen vehicle. 0744 hours – Possession of a Stolen Vehicle Arrest: Deputies responded to the area of Frank Sinatra and Highway 111 after receiving a Vigilant camera hit. Upon arrival, Deputy Benson located the stolen vehicle as it traveled westbound on Highway 111. A felony stop was conducted at Date Palm and Highway 111, with the assistance of personnel from the Cathedral City Police Department. 1230 hours – Warrant / Evading Arrest: Deputy Whitley of the Indian Wells Special Enforcement Team was assisting Deputy Kelly on a stolen vehicle investigation at Bob Hope and Ramon Road when Deputy Whitley initiated a traffic stop on a White Acura. The vehicle failed to yield and continued eastbound Ramon into Thousand Palms. The driver, Richard Langarica, 43 yrs. of Indio, fled on foot from the vehicle after stopping at Sierra Del Sol x Ramon Road. A perimeter was quickly established and Langarica was arrested in the 31-600 block of Calle Helene without incident. Langarica was arrested for a no-bail felony evading arrest warrant and booked at JBDC. File#S210160025.

1256 hours – Warrant Arrest: Deputy Kelly and Sergeant Morton with the Rancho Mirage Special Enforcement Team conducted a pedestrian check at Bob Hope and Ramon Road. Eduardo Aguilar, 24 years of Cathedral City, was wearing a black sweatshirt, black pants, black gloves and black beanie, and was in possession of ten debit cards and social security cards that did not belong to him. Aguilar had an outstanding Felony Warrant for Possession of Stolen Property and was transported to JBDC. Deputy Kelly will conduct additional follow-up regarding additional victims of possible burglary and identity theft. File #S210160020.

1645 hours – Warrant Arrest: Deputy Kelly and Sergeant Morton with the Rancho Mirage Special Enforcement Team conducted a traffic stop at Da Vall north of Ramon Road. The driver, George Stevens, 47 years of San Diego, had an outstanding no-bail felony warrant from San Diego County. Stevens was transported to JBDC. File #S210160033.

1900 hours – Warrant Arrest: Deputy Lee responded to a trespassing call in the 32-200 block of Bob Hope Drive., Rancho Mirage. Security had an intoxicated subject detained. Deputy lee contacted Yessica Chavez Mercado, age 24 of Palm Springs. Deputy Lee found Mercado had an active felony warrant for Robbery and Resisting/Obstructing an officer. Mercado was arrested and booked at JBDC for the warrants. File #S210160043.

1343 hours – Warrant / Possession of a Stolen Vehicle Arrest: Deputy W. Hubbard, of RAID, was conducting follow-up on a stolen vehicle taken from Cathedral City earlier this week. He located the stolen vehicle at Mission Hills Drive south of Gerald Ford. Sergeant Morton and Deputy Kelly of the Rancho Mirage SET responded to assist in the investigation. Trevor White, age 36 of Rancho Mirage, was arrested without incident. White had an active felony warrant for possession of a stolen vehicle and was booked into JBDC. RAID will file out of custody for the stolen vehicle. File#S210200027

1625 hours – Vehicle Pursuit / Vehicle Theft Arrest: Sergeant Garcia of RAID requested a marked Sheriff’s unit to the 32-200 block of Bob Hope Drive to conduct a traffic stop on a stolen Honda Accord. Deputy Wilhite, Sergeant Morton, and Deputy Kelly responded to the area. Deputy Wilhite located the vehicle at Ramon Road and Varner Road. Dep. Wilhite, Sgt. Morton, and Dep. Kelly attempted to conduct a traffic stop and the driver, later identified as David Rodriguez, immediately fled in the vehicle. The vehicle pursuit continued eastbound through Thousand Palms, and south eastbound through Palm Desert. Rodriguez lost control of the vehicle and collided into the curb and a street sign at Country Club Drive and 42nd Avenue in Bermuda Dunes. Rodriguez was not injured during the single-vehicle collision and he was taken into custody without incident. Rodriguez was booked into JBDC. File #S210200050

Christopher Michael Ham, age 37 of Desert Hot Springs, Michael Adam Granados, age 42 of Desert Hot Springs, and Sophia Victoria Ortega, age 46 of Desert Hot Springs, were arrested for being in possession of methamphetamine. Ortega was also arrested for being in possession of drug paraphernalia. They were booked into JBDC. File #S210230065
