1732 hours – AWS/HS Arrest: Deputies conducted a traffic enforcement stop at Bob Hope Drive and Gerald Ford Drive. The driver, Anthony Mitrovich, 55 years of Rancho Mirage, had an active arrest warrant for 496PC. Mitrovich was also found to be in possession of controlled substance for sales and was booked into Indio Jail. File #S191900043.

1929 hours – Deputy Involved Shooting: Deputies responded to a man with a knife call at Bob Hope Drive and Ramon Road, Rancho Mirage. A taser was unsuccessfully deployed, at which time a deputy involved shooting occurred. The suspect succumbed to his injuries and no deputies were injured. The Central Homicide Unit assumed the investigation. File #S191900057.

0809 hours – Fatal Traffic Collision: Deputies responded to the McDonald’s parking lot, located at 34101 Monterey Ave., Rancho Mirage to assist Riverside County Fire. An unidentified male rode his bicycle into the McDonald’s parking lot from eastbound Dinah Shore and collided with a concrete pole and was in cardiac arrest.  The male was pronounced deceased at EMC a short time later.  Investigation is on-going.  File #S191910006.

2115 hours – Public Intoxication Arrest: Deputies responded to the 69-900 block of Frank Sinatra, Rancho Mirage regarding an intoxicated subject.  Deputies contacted and arrested Norris Hambly, 73 of Rancho Mirage, for public intoxication.  Hambly was transported to the county jail in Indio.  File # S191910047.

1711 hours – Domestic Violence Arrest: Deputies responded to Motel 6 located at 69-570 Highway 111, Rancho Mirage regarding a disturbance.  Deputies contacted and arrested Karina Townsend, 33 of Cathedral City, for domestic battery.  Townsend was transported to the county jail in Indio.  File # S191920036.

1330 hours – Public Intoxication Arrest: Deputies responded to The Omni Hotel, 41-000 Bob Hope Drive, Rancho Mirage, regarding an intoxicated person. 1015 hours – Arrest Warrant – Deputy John Mitroff responded to the intersection of Highway 111 and Bob Hope Drive, Rancho Mirage, regarding a suspicious person.  Deputy Mitroff contacted and arrested Mark Joseph Anderson, 57 of Rancho Mirage, for four outstanding misdemeanor warrants for theft and drug related offenses.  Anderson was transported to the county jail in Indio.  File # S191940017

1500 hours – Burglary Arrest:  Palm Desert Investigations and Rancho Mirage Burglary Suppression Unit served search warrants at two residences in the city of Beaumont.  The search warrants were regarding a burglary incident that occurred in the city of Rancho Mirage on May 5, 2019.  Arturo Navarro, 33 of Beaumont was contacted and arrested for burglary and Post Release Community Supervision (PRCS) violation.  Navarro was transported to the county jail Indio.  File # S191250025

0135 hours – DUI Arrest: DUI Enforcement Deputy responded to the area of Highway 111 and Mirage Cove, Rancho Mirage regarding a vehicle swerving.  The Deputies located the vehicle and conducted a traffic enforcement stop at Highway 111 and Larkspur.  Deputies contacted and arrested Jerrick Hernandez, 24 of Indio, for showing signs and symptoms of being under the influence of alcohol. Hernandez BAC was .10 % on the PAS.  Hernandez was transported to the county jail in Indio. File # S191950004.

0232 hours – DUI Arrest:  Deputies conducted a traffic enforcement stop at Bob Hope Drive and Rancho Las Palmas, Rancho Mirage.  Deputies contacted and arrested Cristian Barron, 24 of Palm Desert, for showing signs and symptoms of being under the influence of alcohol.  Barron BAC was .15 % on the PAS.  Barron was transported to the county jail in Indio. 1305 hours – AWS / Fraud Arrest: Deputies responded to 71333 Dinah Shore Drive reference a guest using a fraudulent credit card. Deputies contacted Jerry Aleman, 39 of Perris, Alex Chavez, 33 of Hemet, Cassie Strickland, 34 of Riverside and Jordan Brown, 25 of Riverside. Deputies learned they all had outstanding warrants for various violations, and were booked at the Indio Jail. In addition to the outstanding warrants, Aleman and Brown were booked for 182(a)(1) PC and 484i(c) PC. This arrest was related to an additional fraud at 71777 Dinah Shore Drive reported earlier in the morning. Files # S192000017 / S192000027.

2138 hours – H&S Arrest: Deputies conducted a traffic stop on a gray Honda.  During the course of the stop, 30 grams of Psilocybin was found in the car.  Ethan Sky Vega, 40 of Cathedral City was the driver and on probation.  An additional search of Vega’s hotel room was conducted and another 50 grams were located.  Vega was arrested for 11350 H&S and booked into Indio Jail. 0025 hours – H&S Arrest: Deputies conducted a traffic stop on a Toyota Camry for expired tags and a lighting equipment violation. The vehicle pulled into Motel 6 in Rancho Mirage. During the contact, Deputies learned the driver, Eric Eichler age 48 of Cathedral City, was on summary probation for H&S with search terms. During a search of his person, Deputies located approximately 1.6 grams of meth in Eichler’ pants pocket. Eichler was arrested and  booked into Indio Jail. File #S192030001.

0110 hours – H&S Arrest: Deputies conducted a vehicle check behind the Motel 6 in Rancho Mirage. The deputies contacted Paul Holinaty, age 29 of Palm Springs. Holinaty was on felony probation for stalking.  Probation search of his person was conducted and a small bindle of meth weighing approximately 1.3 grams was located in his coin pocket. Holinaty was subsequently arrested and booked into the Indio Jail for 1203.2 PC (VOP) and 11377 H&S. File # S192030002.

0115 hours – DUI Arrest: Deputies contacted Dung Chi Huynh, 25 of Palm Desert, after observing his vehicle speeding on Bob Hope Drive. Investigation revealed Huynh was driving under the influence of alcohol (BAC .15%).  He was arrested and booked into Indio Jail. File # S192040002.

1842 hours – Public Intoxication Arrest:  Deputies responded to 4 La Ronda to a report of a woman on her back patio, screaming at neighbors and passing golfers.  Deputies contacted Jill Davis, 61 of Rancho Mirage on her back patio.  Deputies determined Davis was too intoxicated to care for herself and arrested her.  Davis was booked into Riverside County Jail in Indio. File # S192040049.

2120 hours – Domestic Violence Arrest:  Deputies conducted a follow up to try and locate Jason Manhuron (273.5 PC suspect) at his grandparents’ house, located at 41010 Rincon, in the city of Rancho Mirage.  Based on interviews with the victim and Thunderbird Estates security, this residence is currently where Manhuron is living.  The grandparents were out of the country, and no other persons reside at that residence.  Deputies observed a room with the lights and TV on, plus movement around the room.  The Deputy asked for additional resources.  Deputies arrived, along with K-9 Deputies.  A surround and call out was initiated.  Investigations was notified for the writing of a Steagall warrant. After 20 minutes of broadcasting to the house, Manhuron exited the residence and was taken into custody without incident.  A “No Bail” 1269 PC was authored and signed. File # S192040004.
