0347 hours – Narcotics Arrest: Deputy Hubbard conducted a follow-up investigation regarding narcotics sales in the 32-200 block of Bob Hope Drive. A search warrant was authored and served for a room at the location. Approximately 80 grams of methamphetamine was located. As Deputy Meservey arrived, one of the vehicles was attempting to leave the collision scene. Deputy Meservey stopped the vehicle at Highway 111 and Frank Sinatra where he contacted the driver, identified as Johnny Garcia, 29 of Cathedral City. 0035 Hours – Located Missing Person: Lieutenant Willison and Sergeant Gutierrez responded to the 32-200 block of Bob Hope Drive, regarding a disoriented adult male at the security. They contacted Yonan E. Yonan, 81 of Phoenix, AZ.  Yonan was entered as missing person from his family the day prior out of the greater Phoenix area.  Yonan had no recollection of how he arrived in Rancho Mirage and was subsequently transported by CAL FIRE to Eisenhower Medical Center for further medical evaluation.  CSO Mikhael arrived and translated in Arabic for Mr. Yonan and coordinated with family members on his current location and the location of the vehicle which Yonan drove from Arizona.  Phoenix PD was updated on the status of their recovered missing person.  File #S212050006

1100 Hours – Search Warrant: Members of the Rancho Mirage Special Enforcement Team conducted follow-up investigation of a burglary / fraud which originally occurred on June 12th, 2021. Deputy Stewart later identified the suspect of the fraudulent transaction as Steven Carey, age 46 of Cathedral City. A residential search warrant was authored for Carey’s residence located in the 35-600 block of Paseo Circulo in Cathedral City. Members from the Rancho Mirage Special Enforcement Team, Indian Wells Special Enforcement Team and Palm Desert Special Enforcement Team / Business District Team served the residential search warrant. A loaded firearm, ammunitions, stolen checks, and numerous fraudulent check forging devices were recovered at the location.  Carey was arrested for being a felon in possession of a firearm, felon in possession of ammunition, violation of mandatory supervision and attempted grand theft (File #S211630027). He was booked into JBDC. In addition, Deputy Kelly conducted an additional fraud investigation into Carey’s roommate, identified as Fredrick Morales, age 53 of Cathedral City, in which additional fraud charges will be filed out of custody (File #S212100054). Deputy Taylor, of the Palm Desert Special Enforcement Team, arrested Christopher Goodman, age 33 of Palm Springs, for multiple active narcotics warrants. He was also booked into JBDC.

1920 Hours – Narcotics Arrest: Deputy Hindiyeh responded to Monterey and Frank Sinatra regarding a traffic collision. Joel La Pena, age 27 of Coachella, was subsequently arrested for possession of methamphetamine for sales. He was booked into JBDC. File #S212100063
