0200 hours – Drunk in Public / Violation of Probation Arrest:  Sheriff Deputies noticed a large group gathering in front of the Dringk Bar due to a large disturbance.  Deputies arrested Enrique Madrigal, 21 years of Palm Desert, for public intoxication and violation of probation.  Madrigal was transported to the county jail in Indio.  File # S191520004.

0047 hours – DUI Arrest: Deputies responded to a two-vehicle traffic collision on Ramon Road, east of Bob Hope Drive, Rancho Mirage. The Deputy contacted and arrested Anthony Velasco, 19 of Cathedral City, for showing symptoms of being under the influence of alcohol. Velasco was traveling eastbound Ramon Road when he collided with another vehicle. Velasco BAC was a .15% on the PAS.  Velasco was treated at a local hospital then transported to the county jail in Indio. File # S191530003.

1321 hours – Arrest Warrant: Deputies responded to 69570 Highway 111, Rancho Mirage (Motel 6), regarding a male who was refusing to leave the property.  The Deputy contacted and arrested Bruce Wholaver, 61 years of Palm Springs, for active warrants.  Wholaver was transported and booked into the Indio jail for 69 PC and 148(a)(1) PC. File # S191530016.

1834 hours – Felony DUI / Traffic Collision: DUI Enforcement Deputy responded to a single vehicle rollover traffic collision at Frank Sinatra Drive and Highway 111, Rancho Mirage. The driver involved in the traffic collision, River Potter, 20 of Los Angeles, was arrested for felony DUI and animal cruelty, and booked into Indio Jail. Potter’s dog was injured in the traffic collision and had to be euthanized. Potter’s BAC was .15%.  File # S191550044.

1722 hours – Assault / Resisting Arrest: Deputies responded to Bernie’s Lounge at 69830 Highway 111, Rancho Mirage regarding a domestic violence incident. Zachary Padilla, 24 of Rancho Cucamonga, was detained. Padilla pulled away from the Deputy. Padilla then grabbed and twisted the Deputy’s left index and small finger causing an injury. Padilla ran across Highway 111 and was later taken into custody with the assistance of OC spray. Padilla was arrested for 69 PC and booked into Indio Jail. The DV was unfounded. File #S191600036

A White female adult, possibly in her 50’s, was found deceased, east of the Emergency Room area from a single gunshot wound to her chest. The weapon was located on her person as well as an apparent suicide note. Positive identification is pending the Coroner’s Bureau response. No sign of foul play. 2030 – Public Intoxication Arrest: Deputies contacted David Potts, 35 of Bermuda Dunes, at Gerald Ford x Los Alamos, reference two calls for service.  Potts was found to be intoxicated beyond the level to care for himself and was arrested and booked into Indio Jail. File # S191680060.
