0045 hours – Warrant Arrest: Deputies conducted a vehicle stop at Cypress x Los Alamos. Alex Lopez, age 25 of Indio, had two outstanding felony warrants for vehicle theft and grand theft. Lopez was possibly in possession of stolen mail and a cactus at the time of arrest. Deputies are currently conducting follow-up in this investigation. Lopez was arrested and booked into the county jail in Indio. File #S201590003

1229 hours – Stolen Vehicle Arrest: Deputies arrested Laymond Walker, 52 of Rancho Mirage.  The vehicle had been stolen on June 2, 2020.  The victim called today to report her vehicle was back and the suspect was currently inside the vehicle.  Deputies arrived and found the suspect in possession of the vehicle.  Walker was arrested and booked into the county jail in Indio.  File #S201590022

2246 hours – Felony Arrest Warrant: Deputies responded to 39-000 Bob Hope Drive, Rancho Mirage, reference an adult male who was extremely verbal and threatening staff members at the location.  Robert Sheldon Smith, 24 of Riverside, was arrested for a felony Parolee at Large warrant.  Smith was booked into the county jail in Indio.  File #S201750073.

2210 hours – Stolen Vehicle/Burglary/Explosive Material Arrest: Deputies observed a yellow Porsche matching an earlier general broadcast minutes earlier of a stolen vehicle in the area of Varner and Date Palm, Thousand Palms. After initially failing to yield, the vehicle stalled at Varner and Mountain View, where it came to rest. Deputies conducted a felony traffic stop and arrested the driver, Miloh Fiorda, 34 of Desert Hot Springs, for possession of stolen property.  During an inventory search of the vehicle, numerous items related to explosives were found. The Hazardous Device Team (HDT) responded and collected the items.  The suspect was transported and booked into the county jail in Indio.   File #S201750068.

1148 hours – Bring Drugs into Correctional Facility, Felon in Possession of Ammunition, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia: Deputies conducted a traffic stop at Frank Sinatra and Thompson.  The driver, Abraham DeLeon, 39 of Indio, was operating the vehicle with a suspended license.  During an inventory search of the vehicle, 12 rounds of ammunition and a methamphetamine pipe were located inside the vehicle.  DeLeon is a convicted felon and was arrested for the above violations.  During the booking process at the county jail in Indio, DeLeon was found to have methamphetamine concealed on his person. An additional charge of bringing drugs in a correctional facility was added to the above charges.
