1845 hours – Petty Theft Arrest: Deputy Davidson responded to the 37-800 block of Monterey Avenue regarding a theft. Zachary Thompson, age 30 of Cathedral City (transient), was arrested for petty theft. He was booked into JBDC. File #S211540059

1912 hours – Felony Evading Arrest: Sergeant Morton and Deputies Stewart and Kelly of the Rancho Mirage Special Enforcement Team attempted to conduct a traffic enforcement stop. The vehicle fled at a high rate of speed and a pursuit was initiated. Air support stayed with the vehicle as it fled into a community. The suspect, Francisco Castro Madera, age 26 of Thousand Palms, parked the vehicle in the driveway of a residence. A perimeter was established, and personnel from the Special Enforcement Bureau responded. Castro was determined to still be inside the vehicle. Castro fled from the vehicle on foot into the backyard of a residence and was taken into custody. Castro was booked into JBDC. File #S211540060

2153 hours – Public Intoxication Arrest: Deputy Saunders responded to a possible DUI driver near the 32-200 block of Bob Hope Drive, Rancho Mirage. The vehicle, a white Lexus with a personalized California license plate, was last seen south of Ramon Road from Bob Hope. Corporal Questel located the vehicle in a business parking lot on Varner, east of Ramon Road, where the driver and passenger were detained. No witness would come forward and field identify the driver of the vehicle. Both the driver, Richard Charlier, age 32 of San Pedro, and passenger, Kevin Smith, age 54 of Cathedral City, were intoxicated. Both were arrested and booked at JBDC. File #S21158054, S211580059.

0902 hours – Possession of Stolen Vehicle Arrest – Deputy Martin located a stolen utility truck in the parking lot of 32-200 block of Bob Hope Drive.  Deputy Martin located the suspect inside the casino and arrested Raymond Duran, 57 out of Desert Hot Springs for possessing stolen property.  Duran was placed on a Post Release Community Supervision hold and booked into JBDC.  File #S211590017.

2220 Hours- Violation of Parole/H&S Arrest- Deputy Montalvo and Deputy Mills conducted a traffic stop in the area of Bob Hope Drive and Interstate 10, in the City of Rancho Mirage after the vehicle failed to stop at a red light. Contacted and arrested during the stop was Brandon Webster, 29 out of Palm Desert, and Mohammad Mir, 48 out of Desert Hot Springs. During the initial contact with Mir, he provided deputies with a fictitious name and it was determined Mir is on active C.D.C. Parole for domestic violence. The parole office was contacted, and parole hold was granted for Mir. Webster was released with a citation for narcotics possession at the scene of the traffic stop and Mir was booked into JBDC for violating the terms of his parole. File #’s S211590051, S211590053.
