2102 hours – Assault with a Deadly Weapon / Domestic Violence Arrest: Deputy Lee responded to a call of an assault with a deadly weapon in the 71-700 block of Dinah Shore, Rancho Mirage.  Deputy Lee contacted and arrested, Maci Ponce, age 43 of Rialto. Ponce was found to have assaulted his girlfriend and threw a wine bottle at her. They have children in common, who were also present in the room. Ponce was booked at JBDC. File #S211220049.

0326 hours – Assault with a Deadly Weapon Arrest: Deputy Topping responded to the 32-200 block of Bob Hope Dr., Rancho Mirage, regarding a suspicious circumstance. There he contacted the reporting party and victim. Both met a subject, later identified as Douglas Fulk, age 39 from Prescott Arizona. They knew Fulk from an online dating app and met him in a hotel room. They were all drinking alcohol, ingesting GHB, and smoking methamphetamine. At some point, Fulk pulled out a hatchet and knife, which he started flailing in the air towards the reporting party and victim. He then knocked the victim to the ground, where he again flailed the weapons towards him. Fulk later returned and was detained. A search of his room revealed the hatchet, several large knives, methamphetamine, methamphetamine pipes and GHB. It was later found Fulk was in town from Arizona and is on Parole for carjacking. Fulk was arrested and booked at JBDC. File #S211230054.

1954 hours – Vehicle Theft / Narcotics Arrest: Deputies received an alert on a stolen vehicle in the area of Highway 111 and Bob Hope Drive. Deputy Robinson located the vehicle at Highway 111 and Country Club Drive. A felony stop was conducted at Mirage Road and Highway 111 and the driver was detained without incident. Jonathan Shields, age 50 of Palm Springs (transient), was arrested and booked into JBDC. File #S211270056

1004 hours – Possession of Stolen Property Arrest: Deputy Garcia responded to the 71-700 block of Dinah Shore Drive, reference an elderly female who stole an iPhone from a guest at the pool area. While Deputy Garcia was investigating the theft, he received information that the female had committed another theft at the hotel and that the credit cards taken in that theft were being used at a retail store in Cathedral City. Corporal Perez drove to that location and detained the female. The female was positively identified, and the property recovered. The female had additional credit cards that may belong to unreported victims. Tala Hirschberg, 79, of Cathedral City, was booked at JBDC. Follow-up on the additional credit cards will be done by deputies assigned to the Rancho Mirage Special Enforcement Team. File # S211280024

0205 hours – Negligent Discharge of a Firearm / DUI / Public Intoxication Arrest – Deputies responded to the 71-800 block of Highway 111, regarding reports of a shot fired and an altercation outside of the bar. Upon arrival, deputies located the suspect vehicle trying to leave the scene. All occupants were detained. A loaded Glock pistol was located inside of the vehicle, with one round missing. A casing was located nearby.  Mateo Levarity, age 23 of Twentynine Palms, was arrested for DUI and negligent discharge of a firearm. Mariah Horta, age 22 of Indio, Alondra Ibarra, age 21 of Indio, Victoria Mendoza, age 22 of Indio, and Sabrina Pena, age 22 of Indio, were all arrested for public intoxication.
