1700 hours – Assault with a Deadly Weapon/ Attempted Carjacking/ Attempted Robbery Arrest: Deputies D. Nelson and Tung responded to 69900 block of Hwy 111 regarding an attempted vehicle theft in progress. Anthony Byes, age 51 of Indio (transient), was interrupted by the victim. Byes cut the victim with a boxcutter and attempted to take his wallet and cell phone. Byes was arrested and booked into JBDC. File #S203090043

0700 hours – Burglary Arrest: Deputy J.C. Garcia and Sgt. Koser responded to the 72000 block of Victory Lane, in Rancho Mirage after a neighbor saw two males removing items from the property.  Contacted and arrested was David James Ralston, age 35 of Blythe, and Westin James Nelson, age 35 of Blythe, for residential burglary. The residence was burglarized the day before and Deputy Stratton responded and assumed the investigation (File #S203130029). Items were removed and placed in the victim’s car inside the garage; however, the security gate was not functioning, and the suspect(s) were unable to remove the property.  It appears the suspects went back the next morning to retrieve the items.  Both suspects were booked at JBDC.  Nelson also had misdemeanor warrants for theft and drugs out of Blythe. File #S203140006.

0948 hours – Misdemeanor Warrants Arrest: Deputy Fernandez conducted a vehicle check on the corner of Frank Sinatra and Highway 111 and contacted Marissa Ramirez, 27 years of Rancho Mirage. Ramirez was found to have five outstanding drug and theft warrants for her arrest. Ramirez was transported and booked a JBDC.  File #S203140013.
