1140 hours – Violation of Probation/H&S Arrest: Deputy Montalvo conducted a vehicle stop in a parking lot in the 32-200 block of Bob Hope Drive. He contacted the driver, Miguel Angel Garcia, age 45, and the passenger, Eduardo Rodriguez Villa, age 32, both from Cathedral City. A search of the vehicle resulted in locating approximately 8 grams of methamphetamine, several Fentanyl pills, and drug paraphernalia. A records inquiry of Villa showed he was on active Felony Probation for Assault with a Deadly Weapon. Villa was booked into JBDC for Violation of Probation and possession. 0154 hours – Warrant Arrest / Vehicle Pursuit: K9 Deputy Day observed a known stolen vehicle (believed to be associated with numerous thefts) at the intersection of Bob Hope x Ramon. The vehicle fled, and a pursuit was initiated and authorized. The suspect eventually parked and fled on foot on into a residence within the 67100 block of Asistencia Drive. The suspect was located and taken into custody without incident. He was booked into JBDC. File #S213100004.

2100 hours – Public Intoxication Arrest: Investigator Troyer and Lieutenant Willison, while working extra duty in the 32200 block of Bob Hope Drive, were contacted by security personnel who were requesting assistance with contacting a vandalism suspect.  Claudio Sanchez-Telles, age 28 of Palm Desert, was ultimately arrested for public intoxication as he was unable to care for himself.  The resort did not desire prosecution for the damage to their property and Sanchez-Telles was booked into JBDC. 1600 hours – Credit Card Fraud/ Warrant/ Vehicle Pursuit Arrest: Deputy Kelly, of the Rancho Mirage Special Enforcement Team, conducted a lengthy follow-up investigation which identified William Craig, age 40 of Fallbrook, as the main suspect of over $4,000 in credit card fraud. 2306 hours – Assault with a Deadly Weapon on a Peace Officer Arrest: Sergeant Morton and K9 Deputy Day responded to a gated community in 71-700 block of Frank Sinatra Drive, regarding a man armed with a knife. They arrived on scene and observed the suspect, who was later identified as Gerald Martin, age 60 of Rancho Mirage, walking away from the guard shack into the street. Martin refused commands and charged towards deputies with a raised ten-inch butcher knife while yelling for them to shoot him in the head. Deputy Day deployed his 40mm Blunt Impact Projectile Launcher and struck Martin. Martin was arrested and booked into JBDC. File #S213220057
