Armen Nacharyan, age 52 of Van Nuys, contacted the victim while she was sleeping in the immediate area. Nacharyan invited the victim to his room. While in the room, the victim fell asleep and then woke up to Nacharyan inappropriately touching her. Nacharyan was booked into JBDC. File #S212440004

0630 hours – Violating a Restraining Order Arrest: Deputy Lara responded to a residence on La Ronda Drive in Rancho Mirage regarding a violation of a restraining order. Jill Davis, age 63 of Rancho Mirage, was reported to be hitting the protected parties pedestrian gate with a wooden stick and making threats.  While being detained, Davis pulled away from Deputy Lara where she was taken to the ground without further incident. Davis was taken to an area hospital on a 5150 hold and charges will be filed out of custody regarding the restraining order violation. File #S212490009.

1257 hours – Felony Warrant Arrest: Members of the Rancho Mirage Special Enforcement Team conducted follow-up investigation into the theft of multiple golf carts throughout Rancho Mirage. The investigation was led by Deputy Kelly, who was able to link Lance Elizondo, age 46 of Desert Hot Springs, to multiple crimes. Elizondo was currently out on bail for similar crimes and the theft of a firearm. Elizondo was identified as the suspect in commercial and residential burglaries, possession of stolen property, vehicle theft, grand theft, theft by false pretenses, and committing a felony while out on bail. A warrant was obtained, and Elizondo was ultimately taken into custody. A residential search warrant was obtained and served at Elizondo’s residence. Elizondo was booked into JBDC. Additional charges will be filed for the previously mentioned crimes and a bail enhancement was obtained in the sum of one million dollars. File #S211740030

1329 hours – Assault with a Deadly Weapon Arrest: Deputies responded to an unknown trouble located in the 71-700 block of Highway 111, Rancho Mirage. The suspect, Austin Toensing, met with the victim in a parking lot to sell speakers. There was an argument between the two and a physical altercation ensued.  Toensing pulled out a revolver and pointed it at the victim. The victim tried to take the gun away from Toensing but was unsuccessful.  The victim left the scene in his vehicle while Toensing chased after him in his vehicle to a nearby parking lot. The victim ran from his vehicle to a nearby neighborhood where Sergeant Gelinas contacted him. Deputies located Toensing inside his vehicle in a nearby parking lot where he was detained without incident. A search of Toensing’s vehicle was conducted and a revolver matching the description was located.   Toensing and was arrested and booked into JBDC. File #S212550035.

1130 hours – Weapons / Narcotics / Parole Violation Arrest: Sergeant Morton conducted an occupied vehicle check at Date Palm and Highway 111 of a disabled vehicle. He contacted Zachariah Thibodeaux, age 25 from Cathedral City, who was on active CDC Parole for assault with a deadly weapon. During a vehicle search, Sergeant Morton located a loaded firearm under the hood of the vehicle wrapped in a towel, along with ammunition, and a jar containing Fentanyl. A Parole Hold was issued and various charges will be filed out of custody. File #S212570041.

1412 hours – Possession of a Firearm/ Ammunition/ High-capacity Magazine and Body Armor: Deputies Stewart and Kelly, of the Rancho Mirage Special Enforcement Team, conducted a vehicle stop at I-10 and Monterey. Team members contacted the driver, Romel Martinez, age 19 of Indio, and the 17-year-old passenger. The minor was found to be wearing body armor. A vehicle search was conducted, and a firearm was located underneath the passenger seat. Additional information was obtained, and Gang Task Force deputies were notified and later served a search warrant at a motel in Thousand Palms.
