1500 hours – AWS Arrest: Deputies assigned to the Special Enforcement Team conducted a traffic stop at Lincoln Downs and Golden State, Rancho Mirage. The driver, Nathan Tapia, 30 years of Cathedral City, was arrested for an outstanding Parolee At Large no bail warrant. Tapia was transported and booked into the county jail in Indio. 1329 hours – Fatal Traffic Collision: Deputies from Palm Desert Station Patrol and Traffic responded to a report of a major injury traffic collision on Bob Hope Drive and Casino, in Rancho Mirage.  It was learned that the victim (78 years) of Palm Springs was attempting to ride his bicycle across Bob Hope Drive against a red light when he was struck by a car traveling southbound.  The car was driven by Hector Felix (35) of Hemet.  The victim was transported to Desert Regional Medical Center, where he later passed away due to his injuries.  The Palm Desert Traffic Team assumed the investigation.  File #S190950033

2126 hours – Domestic Violence Arrest: Deputies responded to the Agua Caliente Casino located at 32250 Bob Hope Drive, Rancho Mirage, regarding a domestic disturbance.  Abby Bal, age 28, of Arizona, hit the victim several times causing minor injuries.   Bal was arrested and booked into the Indio Jail for domestic battery.   File #S190960039

0346 hours – Narcotics Arrest / DVTRO Arrest:  Deputies contacted Rosemarie Allen, 51 years, of Palm Springs and Steven Grant, 49 years, also of Palm Springs.  They were contacted in the parking lot of the Motel 6 located at 69570 Highway 111, Rancho Mirage.  A record check revealed Allen had a misdemeanor warrant for 11377(a) HS, and Allen was arrested for an active DVTRO violation.  They both were booked into Indio Jail.  File #S190970005

1945 hours – AWS Arrest: Deputies responded to 71740 San Jacinto, Space #70, reference a possible trespasser.  The Deputy contacted Tony Saunders, 56 of Rancho Mirage, and found he had a felony 290.1(a) PC warrant, plus two misdemeanor warrants.  Saunders was booked into the Indio Jail. 2103 hours – 11377 H&S Arrest: Deputies contacted Joshua Adam Sarvis, 42 years of Palm Desert, who was dumpster diving behind Steinmart in Rancho Mirage, on Hwy 111 x Bob Hope Drive.  A consent search of his vehicle yielded approximately 1 gram of Methamphetamine, a glass pipe, and syringes.  He was arrested and cite released on scene.  File #S190980053

1930 hours – Possession of Meth and Heroin Arrest: Deputies were assisting the Burglary Suppression Unit (BSU) on a vehicle stop of a gray Toyota Corolla with temporary tags.  The vehicle was an unreported stolen out of Toyota of the Desert. A passenger in the vehicle, identified as Tony Adduci, 50 from Costa Mesa, was detained.  A consensual search of his backpack found a metal cylinder containing crystallized meth and a small plastic bag of heroin.  The meth weighed, with the container, 24.2 grams.  The heroin was .3 grams.  Adducci was cite released as the scene. 1917 hours – Trespass / Possession of Drug Paraphernalia: Deputies responded to Agua Caliente Casino located in Rancho Mirage regarding a subject in custody for trespassing.  Noe Peter Vasquez, 49 years, of Desert Hot Springs, was found to be in possession of a glass methamphetamine pipe.  Vasquez was booked at the Indio Jail for Trespassing and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.  File #S191000046

1030 hours – AWS arrest:  Deputies assigned to the Special Enforcement Team (SET) conducted a pedestrian check at Ramon x Bob Hope.  There they contacted Travis Taylor (21) of Palm Springs.  Taylor had an outstanding felony warrant.  He was booked at SCF for the warrant.  File # S191010026

2346 hours – DUI Arrest: Our D.U.I. Enforcement Officer responded to a reported traffic collision within the valet area at the Agua Caliente Casino, Rancho Mirage. Security at the location believed one of the driver’s, Wanda Kastner, 80 of Rancho Mirage, showed signs and symptoms of alcohol impairment. The Deputy’s investigation determined Kastner was intoxicated with a BAC of .16%. Kastner was arrested for 23152(a) and (b) CVC. Due to Kastner having significant medical problems and her age, she was released in the field to a friend. File #S191010068

2136 hours – Intoxication in Public Arrest: Deputies responded to the Rancho Las Palmas Resort, located at 41000 Bob Hope Drive, Rancho Mirage regarding a reported battery at the location. Officer Arden contacted and determined, Edgard Rivera, 47 of Cathedral City was in violation of 647 (f) PC. Officer Arden also determined at battery did not occur. Rivera was arrested for 647 (f) PC and he was booked to Indio jail. File #S191040043

1230 hours – AWS Arrest: Deputies assigned to the Special Enforcement Team (SET) contacted Gregory Flacon, 27 of Rancho Mirage, at 70100 Mirage Cove.   Flacon was found to have outstanding felony warrants for drug charges.  Flacon was booked into the Indio Jail. File #S191050020.

1231 hours -DUI Traffic Collision Arrest:  Motor Enforcement Officers responded to a single vehicle collision into a block wall on Highway 111 and Fairway, Rancho Mirage.  The Deputy, contacted the driver, Michael Reinhardt, 62 years of Rancho Mirage, and conducted a DUI investigation.  Reinhardt blew a .17% BAC on the PAS device and was subsequently arrested for DUI.  Reinhardt was taken for an OK to Book and once cleared, he was transported and booked into the Indio Jail for DUI.  File #S191050017.

1714 hours – Possession of a weapon Arrest: Rancho Mirage Special Enforcement Team deputies conducted a traffic enforcement stop in the area of Ramon Road and Da Vall Drive, Rancho Mirage.  The vehicle yielded in a residence driveway located at 31-600 Date Palm Drive, Cathedral City.  The front passenger, believed to be Andrew Fahrion, 20 years of Thousand Palms, exited the vehicle and went into the residence.  The driver, Candelaria Adams, 22 years of Cathedral City, and a male juvenile were detained.  Adams was found to be driving on a suspended driver’s license and unregistered firearm was located in the vehicle.  Officers were unable to locate Fahrion at the residence.  Adams was arrested and booked into the county jail in Indio.  File #S191060024

0041 hours – DUI Arrest:  Deputies conducted a traffic stop at 78100 Highway 111, Rancho Mirage.  The driver, David Lee Silverman, 31 years of Florida was contacted.  Silverman showed signs of being impaired by alcohol and was arrested for driving under the influence.  Silverman refused to complete a chemical test and a McNeely warrant was obtained.  Silverman was subsequently arrested for driving under the influence and booked into the Indio Jail.   File #S191070005.

1200 hours – Felony Warrant Arrest: Deputies assigned to the Special Enforcement Team (SET) conducted a pedestrian check at Ramon X I-10.  They contacted Daniel Sanchez, 33 of Coachella, and found he had a felony warrant for a parole violation.  Sanchez was arrested and booked into Indio Jail for 3056 PC. 0230 hours – Domestic Violence Arrest: Officers responded to the 71700 block of San Jacinto Ave., in the city of Rancho Mirage, reference a domestic violence investigation.  Erick Larson, age 35 of Rancho Mirage was uncooperative and hid under a bed to avoid contact with officers. The Sergeant deployed a pepper ball gun after Larson refused to step out in order to gain compliance.  Larson was treated for pepper ball exposure.  Officers subsequently arrested Larson for assaulting his girlfriend/cohabitant.  Larson was booked at the Indio Jail for domestic violence.  File #S191080002

0255 hours, Assault with a firearm / Attempt Robbery: Deputies received a call reference an attempt robbery and an assault with a deadly weapon at the Westin Mission Hills located at 71-333 Dinah Shore in Rancho Mirage. The 25-year-old victim stated three Hispanic male juveniles, ages 14 to 16, attempted to rob him at gunpoint.  The victim attempted to disarm the suspect and was shot / grazed in the right forearm.  Suspects left in a dark color sedan, unknown plate.  Investigations responded.   File #S191090004

0930 Hours – Terrorist Threats Arrest:  Deputies responded to 73 Mayfair, Rancho Mirage regarding a possible robbery.  Upon arrival she contacted the victim.  During the Deputies investigation, it was learned that the victim and Matteson Scott Douglas (49) of Palm Desert had previously been in a dating relationship.  Today, Douglas threatened to kill the victim after spending the night partying together.  Douglas was arrested for violation of 422 PC and later booked into Indio Jail.  File #S191100019

0430 hours – Public Intoxication Arrest:  Deputies responded to 32250 Bob Hope Drive (Agua Caliente Casino), regarding a male causing a disturbance in the south parking lot.  Bryant Emi, 41 years of Fontana was arrested for public intoxication and booked into the Indio Jail.  File #S191130002

1545 hours – Felony Resisting Arrest: Deputies responded to Shell gas station on Hwy 111 X Mirage Cove in Rancho Mirage reference a disturbance.  Milo Gibson, 54 of Rancho Mirage, was panhandling and it was determined he was under the influence of alcohol. The deputy attempted to take him into custody.  Gibson resisted and attempted to strike the Deputy with his shoulder.  The Deputy forced Gibson against the wall, which caused a slight injury to Gibson.  He was treated at scene there were no injuries to the Deputy involved.  Gibson was booked into Indio Jail. 0800 hours – Burglary investigation / Felon in possession of loaded firearm / Possession of stolen property arrest:  Due to a series of commercial and vehicle burglaries that had occurred in the cities of Rancho Mirage and Palm Desert, Members of BSU assumed the investigation and identified three suspects involved in the burglaries. On 04/24/2019, BSU, with the assistance from Palm Desert SET, Palm Desert BDT, Rancho Mirage and Indian Wells SET, La Quinta SET, Coachella CCAT and GTF, served two residential search warrants in Thousand Palms and one in Indio. During the services of the search warrants, stolen property from burglaries in Rancho Mirage and Palm Springs were recovered (estimated value $15,000), along with a 2005 Volvo sedan (estimated value $25,000) that was reported stolen on 04/14/2019. Christopher Hedrich, age 48, from Indio, was arrested at his residence located within the 42000 block of Del Lago in Indio. Hedrich is a previously convicted felon and was found to be in possession of a loaded firearm, possession of methamphetamine, brass knuckles, stun gun and stolen electronics from the burglaries. Hedrich was transported and booked into the Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility in Banning for the above mentioned charges. A 1275 PC (Source of Felonious Funds) was written and approved. 0341 hours- Public Intoxication Arrest:  Deputies contacted Adam Parzych, 41 of Rancho Mirage, at Aqua Caliente Casino located at 32250 Bob Hope Drive in Rancho Mirage. Parzych had a strong smell of marijuana coming from his person and he appeared to be confused and incoherent. Parzych was under the influence of drugs or alcohol and he was arrested for public intoxication.  Parzych was transported to JFK Hospital for a medical clearance.  Due to his medical condition, he was 849 P.C. and released at the hospital. 0053 hours – Robbery Investigation:  Deputies responded to Agua Caliente Casino in reference to a robbery.  The male victim stated he was approached by a Hispanic male adult who demanded the victim give him “something good” or he would be stabbed.  The victim is a tourist and gave the suspect his ID and credit card.  The suspect then walked out of the doors near valet and left onto Bob Hope Drive.  The victim did not sustain any injuries and did not desire prosecution.  No weapon was ever seen or used. Video recording from the casino is pending release, but shows the victim shaking the suspect’s hand and contradicts his statements.  Suspect is described as a HMA, 505-507, heavy build, short black hair, wearing an oversized black t-shirt and denim jeans, black Nike “Cortez” style shoes with a white swoosh logo. 0112 hours – DUI Traffic Collision:  Deputies responded to the area of Bob Hope Drive x Gerald Ford Drive, Rancho Mirage, reference a report of a vehicle traveling north, in the south bound lanes of Bob Hope Drive.  The  Deputy located the vehicle in the parking lot of the Chevron near the location.  The investigation revealed Andrew Michel, 33 years, of Morongo Valley, while driving north on Bob Hope Drive collided with the center median, causing damage to his vehicle.  No city property was damaged.   Michel completed field sobriety tests and was arrested for DUI (.24 BAC).   Michel was booked in the Indio Jail.  File #S191190001

1333 hours – Suicide: A Deputy responded to the 70-000 block of Mirage Cove Drive, Rancho Mirage, regarding a suicide.  The decedent was found inside his detached garage with a self-inflicted gunshot wound to his right temple.  The weapon used was a .38 Smith and Wesson Revolver.  Inside the residence, the decedent left a suicide note. Investigations was notified.  Coroner responded and took over the investigation. File #S191190013.
