1410 hours-Robbery Arrest-Deputies responded to the area of Varner Road and Washington Street in the City of Thousand Palms, regarding an armed robbery. The incident initially began at the 32200 block of Bob Hope Drive in the City Rancho Mirage. Further Investigation determined the victim met the suspect(s), where they drove the victim to the area of Ramon Road and Thousand Palms Canyon in Thousand Palms. There, the victim was robbed at gunpoint by a male suspect. The Rancho Mirage Special Enforcement Team conducted follow up investigation and arrested Nicholas Young, 31-year-old of Cathedral City. Young was booked at John Benoit Detention Center on a parole violation. File #S232140019

He contacted Richard Narvaez, 33-year-old of Palm Desert. A records check of Narvaez confirmed he had an active felony warrant. Narvaez was arrested and booked at John Benoit Detention Center. Deputy Sepulveda contacted Vanessa Hernandez, 37-year-old of Palm Desert. Hernandez was intoxicated and unable to care for herself. 0759 hours– Brandishing Firearm Arrest– Deputy Perde and Deputy Rivera responded to a call of a suspect brandishing a firearm at a person, at the 37800 block of Monterey Avenue, Rancho Mirage. The suspect vehicle was described as a white Honda sedan occupied by three suspects. With the assistance of the Flock camera system, it revealed the vehicle went towards the area of Monterey Avenue and Marketplace. Units located the vehicle, and a felony stop was conducted. Devion Garcia, 21-year-old of Thousand Palms, Derek Oakley, 21-year-old of La Quinta, and Eddie Amezquita, 20-year-old of Bermuda Dunes, were all detained. Surveillance video from business showed a subject with his hand out the window holding an unknown object and the subjects were seen throwing objects at the victim’s vehicle. All three suspects were positively identified, arrested, and booked at John Benoit Detention Center. File #S232200008.

0220 Hours–Possession of Drugs and Paraphernalia Arrest– Deputy Lee conducted a pedestrian check at Frank Sinatra Drive and Da Vall Drive, Rancho Mirage. Deputy Lee contacted Andrea Rocker, 32-year-old of Indio. Rocker is currently on probation. Deputy Lee located 4 grams of suspected fentanyl and other drug paraphernalia on Rocker’s person. She was transported and booked at John Benoit Detention Center. File #S232210004.0810 Hours–Arrest Warrant Service/Narcotics Arrest- Deputy Ford and Corporal Avila responded to a call regarding trespassing near the intersection of Peterson Street and Mirage Cove Dr., in the City of Rancho Mirage. They contacted Peter Ohsol, 67-year-old of Palm Springs. A records check of Ohsol revealed he had a warrant. 1037 Hours-Arrest Warrant Service Arrest– Members of the Rancho Mirage Special Enforcement Team conducted a pedestrian check at the 70-000 block of Gerald Ford Drive, Rancho Mirage. They contacted Richard Dertadian, 60-year-old of Lake Elsinore. A records check revealed Dertadian had numerous misdemeanor warrants. Dertadian was placed under arrest and booked at John Benoit Detention Center. File #S232210023.

1107 Hours–Arrest Warrant Service/Shoplifting/Conspiracy– Deputy Perde and Deputy Rivera responded to the 34000 block of Monterey Avenue, Rancho Mirage. The reporting party advised several subjects were stealing items from the location. With the assistance of the Flock camera system, Deputies located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. Contacted and arrested were, Brian Guzman, 30-year-old of Palm Springs, Jenine Kuresa, 28-year-old of Palm Desert, Breanne Cochran, 28-year-old of Palm Desert, and Brian Diaz 33-year-old of Palm Desert. 1046 Hours–DMV Fraud Arrest– Members of the Rancho Mirage Special Enforcement Team conducted follow up regarding the report of an attempted fraud at a business located in the 34200 block of Monterey Avenue, Rancho Mirage. Members located the suspect, Jubencio Cabrera, 29-year-old of Cathedral City. A license plate inquiry was conducted on the temporary plate attached to Cabrera’s vehicle and it was determined the plate was not assigned to his vehicle. Under Miranda, Cabrera admitted to using his brothers’ temporary license plate to conceal his expired registration from 2016. 0655 Hours-Possession of a Stolen Vehicle/Receiving Stolen Property Arrest– Members of the Rancho Mirage Special Enforcement Team, responded to a call for service at the 71300 block of Dinah Shore Drive, reference a report of a golf cart that was stolen from the location overnight. The golf cart was actively pinging in the city of Cathedral City. Members, along with Burglary Suppression Unit responded to the location. Greg Sullivan, 38-year-old of Indio was located at the residence and arrested for vehicle theft and possession of stolen property. The stolen golf cart was recovered. 1505 Hours–Arrest Warrant Service Arrest – Members of the Rancho Mirage Special Enforcement Team, conducted an area check in the 34200 block of Monterey Avenue regarding a subject inside of the store concealing items. The subject fled from the store on foot, and after a brief foot pursuit, was taken into custody in the north side of the parking lot. The subject was identified as Bo Hopkins, 28-year-old of Desert Hot Springs. Hopkins was on active parole and had an outstanding parole hold no bail warrant. 1246 Hours–Possession of Stolen Vehicle, Receiving Known Stolen Property, Parole Violation Arrest– Members of the Rancho Mirage Special Enforcement Team responded to a call for service at the 71200 block of Highway 111, Rancho Mirage, regarding the theft of a golf cart. The suspect, later identified as David Okeefe-Economou, 35-year-old of Palm Springs, arrived at the location and stole a golf cart, worth approximately $6,000. Okeefe-Economou drove the golf cart into the neighborhood south of the location and hid the golf cart, which was later located. Members located Okeefe-Economou riding his bike in the area of Highway 111 and Rancho Mirage Lane and detained him without incident. A parole hold was obtained and Okeefe-Economou was booked at John Benoit Detention Center, reference file #S232340025.

1304 hours–Driving Under the Influence Arrest– Deputy Shields responded to a call of a possible driver under the influence. Deputy Shields made a stop of the vehicle at Highway 111 and Frank Sinatra Drive, Rancho Mirage.  Deputy Shields contacted the driver, Karen Manzo, 32-year-old of Desert Hot Springs.  Manzo showed signs and symptoms of being under the influence and was subsequently arrested.  Manzo was booked into the John Benoit Detention Center in Indio. 1530 hours–Burglary/Grand Theft Arrest-Members from Rancho Mirage Special Enforcement Team, Palm Desert Special Enforcement Team, and Palm Desert Burglary Suppression Unit, responded to the 78900 block of Savanna La Mar Drive, in the city of Bermuda Dunes, reference two suspects that had been identified in multiple thefts that had occurred in the city of Rancho Mirage. While deputies were at the residence, the two suspects, identified as Manuel Guerra, 34-year-old of Indio, and Osman Felix Arellano, 26-year-old of Coachella left the scene. After driving a short distance, Guerra exited the vehicle and Arellano continued driving. Arellano eventually stopped the vehicle and ran from deputies in the area. Arellano was located and taken into custody without incident. A Smith and Wesson .38 Special Revolver was found near the area where Guerra was located and arrested. Both suspects were transported and booked at John Benoit Detention Center. File # S232330033.

1847 hours-Grand Theft Arrest- On August 28, 2023, at 0214 hours, Deputy Lee responded to the 32200 block of Bob Hope Drive, Rancho Mirage regarding theft from a vehicle. Deputy Lee’s investigation revealed numerous items, totaling an amount of $1,060.00 were stolen from the victim’s vehicle. The suspect vehicle was described as white vehicle. At 1847 hours, Deputy Lee observed the suspect vehicle driving in the city of Palm Desert. Deputy Lee identified Maria Priscilla Fernandes, 32-year-old of Palm Desert, as the suspect and arrested her for Grand Theft. Fernandes was transported and booked at John Benoit Detention Center. 1309 hours–Stolen Vehicle Arrest–Deputy Meservey located a stolen/embezzled U-Haul vehicle in the area of Highway 111 and Indian Trail Road in the city Rancho Mirage. A felony stop of the vehicle was initiated and the driver, Ada Martinez Aguilera, 60-year-old Indio, was detained. Passenger, Richard Gutierrez 38-year-old of Indio, was also detained. Investigation revealed Aguilera embezzled the U-Haul truck. Aguilera was arrested for vehicle embezzlement and Gutierrez was also arrested for three outstanding warrants.
