1701 hours – DUI Arrest: Officers assigned to DUI Enforcement responded to the area of Monterey Avenue and Country Club Drive, Rancho Mirage reference a vehicle swerving all over the road.   Officers located the vehicle and a traffic enforcement stop was conducted. Robert Castro, 67 years of Desert Hot Springs was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol. Castro’s BAC was .23% on the PAS. Castro was transported and booked at the county jail in Indio. File #S190320044

1706 hours – DUI Arrest: Officers responded to Highway 111 and Country Club Drive, Rancho Mirage, regarding a reckless driver. Officers located the vehicle just inside the city of Cathedral City and conducted a traffic enforcement stop at Buddy Rogers and Highway 111, Cathedral City. Dolores Ramirez, 66 years from Cathedral City, was arrested for DUI. Ramirez submitted to a blood test and was then transported and booked into the Indio Jail. File #S190350051.

1245 hours – Vehicle Burglary Arrest:  Palm Desert Station Burglary Suppression Unit conducted follow-up investigation into a series of vehicle burglaries that occurred on 12/26/2018 within the Tuscany community in the city of Rancho Mirage. Joshua Lewey, age 41 from San Diego, was identified as the suspect. On 02/05/2019, with the assistance of Rancho Mirage SET, Lewey was arrested during a traffic stop in the city of Coachella. Lewey was found to be in possession of burglary tools. Lewey was booked into the Riverside County Jail in Indio for three counts of vehicle burglary, one count of commission of a felony while out on bail and possession of burglary tools. 0229 hours – Trespassing Arrest: Officers responded to the Agua Caliente Casino and contacted Sophie Gonzalez, 27, from DHS, for trespassing.  Gonzalez was arrested and cite-released.  File #S190370006  

0804 hours – Assault with a Deadly Weapon arrest: Rancho Mirage Police Officers responded to Morningside Country Club in Rancho Mirage for a report of an Assault with a Deadly Weapon.  The victim called and reported Ruben Leon-Diaz, age 28 of Palm Springs, was chasing him with a machete.  Officers arrested Leon-Diaz for 245 PC.  He was later booked into Riverside County Jail, Indio. 1300 hours – Stolen Vehicle Arrest: Officers were driving westbound on Ramon Road when the Officer approached the intersection of Bob Hope Drive, Rancho Mirage.  The ALPR System alarmed notifying of a hit on a stolen vehicle.  A felony stop was conducted. It was determined the vehicle was reported stolen/embezzled out of LASO.   Valerie Paternostro, 37 of Palm Springs, was arrested for 10851(a) CVC and 496(a) PC. She was transported and booked into the County Jail in Indio. File #S190400027.

2136 hours – Public Intoxication Arrest: Rancho Mirage Officers responded to Highway 111 and Country Club Drive, Rancho Mirage, regarding a subject walking into traffic lanes. Officers contacted Taryn Davidson, 28 of Palm Desert.  Davidson was arrested for 647 (f) PC and she was booked into the County Jail in Indio. File #S190400036.

0110 hours – Domestic Violence Arrest:  Officers responded to 70000 block of Thunder Road, Rancho Mirage, reference a domestic disturbance.  Brianna Gray, 22 years, of Rancho Mirage hit the victim several times causing minor injuries.  Gray was booked at the Banning Jail for domestic battery.  File #S190420003 

1350 hours – Stolen Vehicle Recovered: Officers responded to 72837 Dinah Shore, Rancho Mirage, reference a call from the victim of a stolen vehicle.  The RP stated her husband had found their stolen vehicle, which was taken out of Indio (2019-I-1934), in the parking lot of the Wendy’s Burgers.  Officers arrested the driver, Joshua Hayes, 32 from Thermal. He was booked into Indio Jail for 10851 VC and 496D PC. File #S190420030.

Enforcement Officer responded to the area of Gerald Ford Drive and Da Vall Drive in reference to a suspected DUI driver.  The reporting party was an off-duty CHP officer and advised they were following the vehicle.  Jose Barba, age 47 of Carson City, showed symptoms of being under the influence of alcohol. Barba BAC was .17%.  Barba was booked into the county jail in Indio for 23152 (a) CVC and 23153(b) CVC.  File #S190450005

Enforcement Officer was dispatched to a report of a possible DUI driver in the area of Gerald Ford Drive and Bob Hope Drive, in the city of Rancho Mirage. Officers located the vehicle and conducted a traffic enforcement stop at Frank Sinatra and Island Drive.  The driver, Adrienne Pakenham, age 49 year of Rancho Mirage, showed signs and symptoms of being under the influence of alcohol.  Officers conducted a DUI investigation and subsequently arrested Pakenham for driving under the influence of alcohol.  Pakenham BAC was .16% on the PAS.  Pakenham was transported and booked into the county jail in Indio.  File #S190450044

0742 hours – Public Intoxication/Trespassing Arrest:  Deputies responded to 40101 Monterey Avenue, Rancho Mirage, regarding a disturbance.  Deputies contacted Joseph Gilbert, age 54, of Rancho Mirage. Gilbert was one of the parties in the disturbance was determined to be intoxicated and Officers arrested him for being drunk in public.  The location Gilbert was contacted at also requested Gilbert be arrested for trespassing.  Gilbert was booked into Riverside County Jail in Indio for 647(f) PC and 602 PC.  File #S190460012

2052 hours – Public Intoxication Arrest: Officers responded to Agua Caliente Casino located at 32250 Bob Hope Drive, Rancho Mirage, regarding an intoxicated subject.  Officers contacted George Edginton, 52 years of Ontario, who was extremely intoxicated and unable to care for himself.  Edginton was arrested and transported to the county jail in Indio where he was booked.  File # S190460045

1400 hours – DUI Traffic Collision Arrest:  Traffic Enforcement Officers responded to a three-vehicle traffic collision on southbound Monterey Avenue north of Park View, Rancho Mirage.  The driver that caused the collision, Byran William Kaul, 69 years of Palm Desert, was subsequently arrested for DUI.  Kaul’s BAC was .21% on the EPAS.  After an OK to Book at EMC, Kaul was booked into the Indio Jail.  File #S190500044

0027 DUI Arrest: Rancho Mirage D.U.I. Enforcement Officer responded to a report of a possible DUI driver in the area of Highway 111 x Country Club, Rancho Mirage.  The reporting party stated a male, later identified as Les Cser, 61 years of DHS, was seen driving Westbound on Highway 111, when he struck a curb somewhere near Country Club Drive in the City of Rancho Mirage. Officers located the vehicle on Country Club near Morningside. Cser showed signs and symptoms of alcohol impairment.  Officers searched the area and were unable to locate any signs of a traffic collision.  It was determined Cser was driving on a suspended driver’s license. Cser was unable to perform any Field Sobriety Tests.  Cser refused a chemical test and a McNelly warrant was issued for his blood.  He was arrested and booked into Indio Jail for 23152(a) CVC and 14601.1(a) CVC.   File #S190190030

0850 hours – Felony Warrant Arrest: Officers responded to 37-977 Bob Hope Drive, Rancho Mirage (Sunnyland’s Estate) reference a suspicious person.  The Officer contacted Cecilia Noble, age 30 of Rancho Mirage, and found she had an active felony warrant for parolee at large.  Noble was arrested and booked into the Indio Jail.  File #S190520008

2119 hours – DUI Arrest – Officers observed a vehicle swerving and conducted a traffic enforcement stop on Highway 111 and Frank Sinatra, in the city of Rancho Mirage. Officers contacted the driver, Janice Fleming, age 71 of Palm Desert.  Fleming showed signs and symptoms of being under the influence of alcohol.  Officers conducted a DUI investigation.  During the field sobriety test, Fleming fell backwards hitting her head on the ground.  Fleming was transported to a local hospital via ambulance.  At the hospital, Fleming submitted to a blood test.   Fleming was given a citation and released to the hospital to receive further medical treatment.  File # S190520050

1445 hours – DUI Traffic Collision Arrest:  Rancho Mirage Traffic Enforcement Officers responded to a three-vehicle traffic collision on westbound Highway 111 and Evening Star, Rancho Mirage.  The driver that caused the collision, Jesse Uribe, 37 years of DHS, was subsequently arrested for DUI.  His BAC was .17% on the PAS.  After an OK to Book, Uribe was booked into the Indio Jail.  File #S190530036

1516 hours – Resisting Arrest and Parole Violation:  Officers were flagged down in the Gelson’s parking lot for a suspicious person who was suicidal.  At the entrance to Gelson’s, the Officer contacted Landis Gibbs (30) of Desert Hot Springs.  Gibbs fled the on foot from the initial Officer and was detained a short distance later by assisting Officers. Gibbs was booked into Indio Jail for 148 PC and Parole violation after being medically cleared at JFK. File #S190530034

1317 hours – Public Intoxication Arrest: Deputies responded to 71380 Hwy 111, Rancho Mirage to a disoriented subject.  Deputies arrived and contacted Marcelo Pinheiro, 47 of Palm Springs.  Pinheiro was impaired by an unknown controlled substance.  Pinheiro was unable to care for himself and was arrested for violation of 647 (f) PC.  He was later booked at Indio Jail.  File #S190550027

1928 hours – Domestic Violence/Elder Abuse Arrest: Officers responded to 70070 block of Frank Sinatra Drive, Rancho Mirage, regarding an unknown trouble. Officers arrived and contacted Brian Lindley, 46 years of Rancho Mirage, and Karl Stine, 59 years of Rancho Mirage. Both men were in a dating relationship. During the course of his investigation, Officers saw an 83-year-old male on the floor in a diaper lying on his bedroom floor with his head bleeding. Stine and Lindley were arrested for elder abuse and Stine was also arrested for domestic violence. Both men were transported and booked into the county jail in Indio. File #S190550043
