2040 hours – Possession of Narcotics/Violation of Probation Arrest: Deputies from the Rancho Mirage Special Enforcement Team (SET) conducted a vehicle check in a parking lot in the 32200 block of Bob Hope Drive. Deputies arrested Joel Lapena, age 27, of Coachella, for possession of methamphetamine, possession of paraphernalia pipes and for a violation of three counts of mandatory supervision probation. 2254 hours – D.U.I, Warrant, Vehicle Theft, Possession of Stolen Property, Conspiracy, Resisting and Evading Arrest: Deputies responded to a residence on Ann Lane, Rancho Mirage, regarding the theft of a tow dolly that just occurred. Deputy Earley located the suspect vehicle and stolen tow dolly at Highway 111 and Peterson Road. Deputies pursued the vehicle for several minutes before ending near Brassie Place and Bolero Road in Palm Springs. Arrested were, Fidel Aboyzo Miranda, age 30 years of Cathedral City, CA (Driver) and Jose Angel Romero Perez, age 26 years of Cathedral City, CA (Passenger). Miranda was arrested for vehicle theft, causing injury to an officer while resisting arrest, D.U.I., possession of stolen property, conspiracy, evading arrest, five felony warrants, and three misdemeanor warrants. Perez was arrested for several felony warrants out of Iowa. Both Perez and Miranda were booked into the John Benoit Detention Center. File #S220630065.
