1800 hours–Burglary Arrest-Palm Desert Station’s Burglary Suppression Unit, assisted by Rancho Mirage and the Palm Desert Special Enforcement Team, served a search warrant in the 400 block of Prairie, Cathedral City.  The search warrant stemmed from a residential burglary in Rancho Mirage on October 2, 2023. As a result, Damien Robinson, 48-year-old of Cathedral City, was arrested for burglary and vehicle theft. During the search warrant, approximately $10,000 in property was recovered, and the victim’s stolen vehicle. Robinson was booked at the John Benoit Detention Center. File #S232750029

2338 hours-Driving Under the Influence Arrest- Deputy Galvan responded to the area of Bob Hope Drive and Highway 111, Rancho Mirage regarding a traffic collision. Deputy Galvan contacted and arrested Nicola Jane Herrera, 39-year-old of Palm Springs for driving under the influence. Herrera was transported and booked at John Benoit Detention Center. 0243 Hours-Spousal Assault Arrest– Deputy Stevens was dispatched to the 32200 block of Bob Hope Drive, Rancho Mirage, regarding a domestic violence incident. Upon his arrival he spoke with the victim and her boyfriend, Jeremy Smith, 37-year-old of Rancho Mirage. Investigation determined that Smith assaulted his spouse, which left injuries. Smith also took her cell phone and prevented her from calling 911.  Smith was arrested and booked at John Benoit Detention Center. File #S232770002.

1047 Hours-Fraud Arrest–Members of the Rancho Mirage Special Enforcement Team conducted follow-up investigation regarding identity theft and a check fraud incident that occurred on August 23, 2023. Members identified the suspect as Benigno Reyes IV, 28-year-old of Yucca Valley. Members located Reyes in the city of Palm Desert and took him into custody without incident. Reyes was transported and booked at John Benoit Detention Center. File #S232350057.

2021 Hours–Grand Theft Arrest– Deputy Smith responded to the 72700 block of Dinah Shore Drive, Rancho Mirage, reference a report of a theft in progress. The reporting party advised two subjects were in the store concealing merchandise. When deputies arrived, both subjects fled on foot behind the business. Paul Henry Neuharth III, 30-year-old of Rancho Mirage was located and taken into custody. The female, Stephanie Plata, 27-year-old of Desert Hot Springs, was not located, but charges will be filed out of custody. Neuharth was transported and booked into John Benoit Detention Center.
