Rancho Mirage Food Recovery Program

The Rancho Mirage Edible Food Program coordinates the recovery and redistribution of edible food that would have otherwise been sent to the landfill. The goal of this program is to reduce food waste and food insecurity in our community.

Participation in this program is open to any sized food service facility, including restaurants, resorts, hospitals, nonprofits and schools. The City has partnered with Find Food Bank to provide all Rancho Mirage businesses no cost donation agreements, donation collection and scheduling, tracking donation types and weights and to provide reporting to the City on your behalf.

Want to work with a different food recovery organization? You can still enroll and create your own unique donation program with the food recovery agency of your choice and provide reporting to the City directly. If you have any questions please reach out to Recycling@ranchomirageca.gov.
