TO-GO GREEN GRANT PROGRAM

The TO-GO GREEN program is a comprehensive initiative aimed at encouraging and supporting food service businesses in Rancho Mirage to transition away from single-use plastics and non-compostables, while also promoting the recovery of edible food for its best and highest use.
The TO-GO GREEN program is open to all Rancho Mirage businesses and nonprofits that provide food services, including hospitals, schools, resorts, and restaurants. Participants must possess a valid business license with the City of Rancho Mirage and actively enroll in the Rancho Mirage Edible food program.
Participating businesses will have the opportunity to receive reimbursement based on the size of their facilities. For restaurant facilities that are less than 5,000 sq. ft. or have 249 seats or fewer, hotels with on-site food facilities that have 149 beds or fewer, or health facilities with on-site food facilities with 99 beds or fewer, the reimbursement amount can be up to $2,500. For restaurant facilities that are at or greater than 5,000 sq. ft. or have 250 seats or more, hotels with on-site food facilities that have 150 beds or more, or health facilities with on-site food facilities with 100 beds or more, the reimbursement amount can be up to $5,000.

Funding is available on a first come- first served basis, until budgeted funds are depleted.
Eligible locations can apply for reimbursement up to the amounts set forth above for the future purchase of sustainable alternatives such as compostable, fiber-based, or reusable to-go containers, to-go utensils, one-time use straws, and innovative to-go one-time use edible utensils like spoons for ice cream. To be eligible for reimbursement, businesses must be enrolled in the Rancho Mirage Edible food program and obtain pre-authorization before purchasing any items by completing the preauthorization request provided by the City.
